ABOUT BOBBY
Bobby Buffington is a highly knowledgeable litigator and mediator with over 36 years of experience as a lawyer. He has tried more than 150 cases before juries in state and federal courts throughout the state of South Carolina. He has represented plaintiffs and defendants in civil cases involving personal injury, products liability, insurance, and business and contract disputes.
Prior to the opening of Buffington Law Firm, Bobby was a shareholder with Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, PA for more than 30 years. He spent the last 15 years as the resident shareholder in the firm’s Myrtle Beach office.
Bobby is a certified mediator, with a mediation practice that spans more than twenty years. Those years of experience, along with his ability to fairly see all sides of an issue, allow him to have an uncommon perspective and to successfully negotiate settlements. He has mediated more than 1000 cases. Bobby continues to zealously represent plaintiffs and defendants in civil lawsuits. Using the knowledge and skills his MBA affords, Bobby also provides practical legal counseling for small businesses.
Bobby grew up in Spartanburg, SC, where he earned his Eagle Scout badge, graduated from Dorman High School and then Wofford College. He moved to Columbia for law school, where he graduated with honors. He then practiced with the Columbia office of Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, PA for twenty years. In 2005 Bobby and his wife and three young children moved to Pawleys Island. Bobby opened the Myrtle Beach office for Haynsworth, where he was the resident shareholder for 15 years. He is an active member of his community and especially close to his heart is Holy Cross Faith Memorial Episcopal Church, where Bobby has served on the vestry and acted as senior warden.
